Volante Florence RHF Chaise Corner Sofa

The Volante Florence is a big, comfortable modular sofa with one particularly useful difference: you are not stuck with one layout.

This version is shown with a right hand facing chaise. The centre sections can be moved around, so the Florence can be reconfigured to suit the room rather than having to arrange the room around the sofa.

In the large five section configuration pictured, it measures 365cm x 365cm.

Despite its size, it doesn’t look heavy. Drop the headrests down and the back becomes noticeably lower and cleaner. The slim metal legs lift the sofa away from the floor too, giving such a substantial corner a more contemporary look.

The arm seats are electrically operated, with power reclining and power adjustable headrests. The chaise gives you somewhere to stretch out permanently, while the powered seats can be adjusted when you want to properly recline.

We particularly like the way the Florence sits.

Inside the seats is a combination of pocket springs and a dual spring system. There is plenty of softness when you first sit down, but it doesn’t simply collapse underneath you. You can feel the support below the cushioning, giving the Florence a reassuringly substantial feel.

The fabric is unusual too. It has the soft, smooth touch and slightly mottled appearance of Nubuck, yet it is actually a durable modern upholstery with spill resistant technology.

It is one of those materials that makes much more sense when you touch it than when you read about it.

For a sofa this size, the ability to move the centre sections is a real advantage. You can have the RHF chaise arrangement pictured here or reposition the modular sections if your room or requirements change.

The Florence is difficult to judge from dimensions alone. If you have a large room, it is worth seeing it in person because the fabric, sprung seating and smooth reclining action are a big part of what makes this sofa feel different.
