Natuzzi’s Latest: Reinventing Italian Leather Sofas with Harmony and Innovation
A Heritage Reborn: “Rooted in Harmony” and Designer Led Collections
At Milan Design Week 2025, Natuzzi Italia unveiled its bold new collection titled “Rooted in Harmony,” drawing deeply from its Apulian roots to redefine what modern Italian leather sofas signify. The collection introduces a range of expressive pieces including corner suite friendly modular sofas, sinuous modern armchairs, and multifunctional seating that merge organic form with contemporary elegance. Notable offerings include the Amama modular island sofa, the peaceful Habita sofa with its elegant curves, and the nature inspired Fiore armchair. Each piece embodies the brand’s masterful blending of designer sensibility and Italian Leather craftsmanship.
This European debut was extended across the Atlantic at NYCxDesign, where Natuzzi showcased Memoria (a total living concept from Karim Rashid), Habita by Mauro Lipparini, and Pagoda, a new evolution in their signature Comfortness line that pairs ergonomic design with physical and mental well being. These designs perfectly capture modern luxury sofas.
Spotlight on “Mirai”: A Sculpture in Sofa Form
Earlier in 2024, designer Andrea Steidl introduced Mirai, Natuzzi’s architectural statement sofa inspired by the 13th century castles of Frederick II in Puglia. Featuring a sculptural wooden frame that cradles soft, irregular volumes, Mirai reflects the brand’s ethos of merging tradition with forward thinking design. This is a true testament to Natuzzi Italia’s status as a designer driven luxury brand.
Global Moves: Reinforcing Brand and Retail Strategy
In its first quarter of 2025, Natuzzi reported net sales of €78.1 million, down 7.6 percent from the prior year, and recorded an operating loss of €0.8 million. The company is shifting Natuzzi Editions production for North America from China to Italy, an initiative aimed at strengthening its Made in Italy identity and improving supply chain resilience.
Within the UK market, Natuzzi expressed further commitment to brand standards by closing one UK store due to underperformance, while continuing efforts to roll out centralized brand guidelines globally. This move aligns with its launch of new Natuzzi Editions lines including Feelwell, DolceVita, and Neo Heritage, along with the promotion of its Circle of Harmony and Comfortness collections across both Editions and Italia divisions.
At the High Point Market, Natuzzi emphasized fresh retail concepts for both Natuzzi Italia and Natuzzi Editions, presenting over 30 new models across living, dining, and bedroom categories. This reinforces the brand’s position as a full spectrum modern designer furniture provider rooted in Italian Leather tradition.
