img_7983.jpg

Natuzzi source some great leathers mainly from Italy & Brazil. To answer this question, we will have to work together.

What do you want from your sofa?

Natuzzi Editions Range have many leathers all categorised by numbers from 10 to 30. So is a higher grade better, well in a way not necessarily for the end user. Let me explain.

Natural Leather Or Protecta Leather.

These two categories make a great start for you to simplify choosing the right leather for your Natuzzi sofa.

Natural this is also known as nude or fully aniline leather. With a mellowed antique look often waxed it’s designed to pick up marks & ware to add to its character. Often favoured by people going for an urban, industrial or countryside/farmhouse sort of a look.

Protecta as the name hints a leather featuring a protected coating or tanalised finish. So if you want your sofa to keep looking as new and uniformed as possible and not antiqued, nor picking up ware this is the one for you.

Now you have narrowed it down by half we can look at the range in detail.

Natuzzi Editions Range Leathers.

The most popular category, 10 Leather is Denver (Protecta) a finished grain is achieved by the leather being buffed and embossed. The thickness is from 1.3 – 1.5 mm. DENVER has a full hand and a semi-shiny appearance. protected corrected grain So in a way, this is definitely a less premium look and feel than the higher grades of leather. It is however great for family use and will stand up to liquid spills and be quite stain resistant.

15 LeMans Protecta Natuzzi Leather

Next is the category 15 leather and the most popular swatch is Le Mans. Le Mans is a semi-aniline protected leather where the colour is dyed in and sealed with protection giving it a deeper more beautiful look while retaining still a high level of stain resistance, plus ware resiliency. Le Mans (Protecta) has natural grain, with light buffed translucent finish for color. Being a natural grain article, differences in grain are expected however, are less in instance than a 20 Dream. Usually the thickness is from 1.1 – 1.3 mm. Natuzzi LeMans 15 leathers main attraction is a lovely soft smooth touch. Some natural features like scars, vein, insect bites can be expected and normal for this organic leather. Chic colours, yellow grey blue taupe among a full swatch to suit your space.

For most people, the smart choice, and the one I would choose is 15 Le Mans leather, giving the perfect balance between premium and family resilience. In our experience. This Leather also has a more uniform attribute, and for the more sleek unfussy and modern sofas it is more appropriate with less natural variation.

Rockford 15 (Natural) aniline leather natural grain and sauvage effect. Incredibly beautiful and by scratching it with your nail, you leave a mark simply holding your finger on melts the wax slightly into the mark leaving it less visible, but still there which builds up the patina antiqued look of this stunning article. The look is semi-matte and the thickness is around 0.9 – 1.1 mm. waxy to the touch with aniline vintage look. Variations of color and texture are visible on the sofa between the panels along with natural qualities scars, veins, wrinkles, insect bites, callus, grain differences also visible. Spills on this leather at first, seemed like a disaster us. It seems to leave a tidemark and the nude leather is more porous than its protected counterparts. After many trials and research, SofaMax have had customers report that this 15 Rockford leather builds up a resilience and can be a great family friend after many years. If you want a worn look this is great for others the easily marking attribute is not acceptable and should look at a protected semi-aniline in a natural looking colour.

Dream (Protecta) 20 leather features natural grain and a thickness from 1.4 – 1.6 mm. Dream 20 leather has a wonderful soft feel and the hide is slightly buffed in ordinary process with lighter protection. So what does that mean simply. It’s going to be super premium and give your sofa a definite wow factor. That being said in our experience we have encountered complaints as natural occurrences are common with grain differences, insect bites, scars and other sighns of having lived a life are higher and more amplified in instance. Spills are more risky as dream is slightly more porous.

Leisure(Protecta) leather is Natural grain leather and there can be differences in grain. Its thickness is from 1.1 – 1.3 mm. The small / flat grain is given by vacuum drying treatment. Giving a very premium luck to your Giving a very premium luck to your Natuzzi sofa or corner Group.

These are the main leathers sold in the natuzzi editions range.
