Furniture Village Welcomes Industry Leader Ian Oliver to Board
Furniture Village, one of the UK’s most recognised names in designer sofas and home furniture, has announced the appointment of Ian Oliver as a Non Executive Director to its Board.
Bringing a wealth of experience in retail, marketing, brand strategy, and manufacturing, Ian Oliver is a respected figure in the designer furniture industry. Known for his sharp business insight and track record of delivering sustainable growth, Ian’s leadership will help steer Furniture Village through its next phase of expansion with a continued focus on quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction in the sofa and interiors market.
With over 30 years in the industry, Ian began his career at Marks & Spencer in 1987, taking on senior buying roles across menswear and home. As head of furniture and soft furnishings, he helped boost sales beyond £100 million and played a key role in developing the company’s marketing strategy, including the launch of the Per Una brand.
His impressive career continued at Christie Tyler as Director of Branded Furniture, overseeing top-tier brands such as Duresta, G Plan, Parker Knoll, and more. Later, he led several businesses under Sofa Brands International, eventually becoming Group CEO. He successfully navigated the company through challenging times, including Brexit and the pandemic, while maintaining a strong presence in the designer sofa space.
